On March 28, 2025, Total Immersion Kraków had the honor of interviewing swimmer Tomasz Klimczyk!
Here is the short story of this young and ambitious man who, that very week, swam an incredible 42.2 km in a long-distance competition lasting 24 hours!
How did your swimming adventure begin?
It all started with 24-hour swimming marathons, but… on the other side of the lens! Initially, I was photographing competitions while being a runner myself. However, an injury forced me to look for a different activity. By chance, I came across an ad for Total Immersion Kraków, so I entered their contest and received a response from coach Witold Musiał, who offered me individual freestyle lessons. After just a few training sessions, I could see where the mistakes were and what I needed to improve!
Did the Total Immersion method that Witold taught you change your approach to swimming?
The biggest change was understanding that swimming is not about strength, but about technique. Thanks to Total Immersion, I realized that you need to work with the water, not fight against it. This allowed me to improve my movement efficiency, reduce fatigue, achieve better times, and – most importantly – find pure joy in swimming.
Your recent competition in Kazimierza Wielka ended with a tremendous success. What emotions did you experience?
It was a whole range of emotions – from joy and excitement to moments of crisis, like when I pushed off the wall badly and felt a sharp pain in my wrist. The biggest challenge, however, was the cold that accompanied me, which at times seemed unbearable. Despite all that, I managed to persevere to the end and cover a distance of 42.2 km.
What advice would you give to other swimmers who are just starting out or already have experience? Would you recommend the Total Immersion method?
First and foremost – don’t compare yourself to others, just be happy with what you’ve already achieved. Because swimming should truly bring you joy!
I would absolutely recommend Total Immersion – this technique, as my own example shows, proves that you can achieve very good results in a short time. And with the help of a skilled coach – you can accomplish so much more!
What are your dreams and goals for the near future?
My dream is to compete in an Ironman and to swim 500 m in open water! Of course, I also want to take part in another 24-hour swimming marathon and – perhaps – beat my own record.
The most important thing, though, is to never lose the joy of swimming!

Tomek, your achievements are impressive and will certainly inspire others!
Thank you so much for the interview. We wholeheartedly wish you continued success and the fulfillment of all your dreams!
You should be very proud of yourself
